Enthusiastic teacher of Software Engineering topics that includes entry to advanced level programming, computer architecture, embedded technologies, and data engineering. I have significant experience in industry and higher education as an application developer, business systems' analyst, and application development manager. I bring my background into my teaching, relating real world scenarios and methodologies. I strive to make class interactive and exciting through use of hands-on activities, and facilitate exploration of algorithms and standard development practices through small projects such as the development of retro video games.
My wife and I have three sons, a business analyst, artist, and a firefighter. We enjoy the beach, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I’m retired from the Florida Army National Guard where I served over 23 years as a medical evacuation helicopter pilot. I am a member of a local flying club and use the small fixed wing planes to take family and friends on small adventures.
